Returns and Cancellations
Changing Your Order
Mistakes happen—we get it. If you notice an error in your order, please reach out to us ASAP, and we’ll do our best to make things right.
Cancelling an Order
If your wine hasn’t shipped yet and you need to cancel, we’ll accommodate you but we will charge a 3% fee to cover credit card processing fees. For returns after 7 days, a 10% restocking fee applies to handle restocking logistics. Orders are non-cancellable after 30 days from the date on the invoice, including pre-arrival wines and wines being held in our warehouse. Finally, once your order is on its way, cancellations are a no-go.
Valid Reasons for Return
We take pride in delivering exceptional service and pristine bottles. While our goal is to make every delivery perfect, here’s when we’ll happily assist with a return:
- The wrong wine was sent: For example, if a different vintage arrives instead of what you ordered.
- The wine arrived damaged: If the bottle is showing signs of leakage and the shipment complied with our shipping policy (note: we cannot guarantee condition if you chose to override our policy).
Important Reminder: Snap a photo of any damaged or leaking bottles and send it to david@weekendwine.com within 24 hours of delivery.
Invalid Reasons for Returns
Because fine wine is a delicate and perishable product, some scenarios unfortunately don’t qualify for returns:
- You didn’t enjoy the wine (taste preferences can be subjective).
- The wine was a gift, and you’d like to exchange it.
- Unforeseen shipping delays or failed delivery attempts through our carrier UPS.
- The wine shows damage from exposure to extreme weather if you chose to override our shipping recommendations.
- The wine is corked or flawed. While this is disappointing, cork flaws originate at the winery.
- Wine older than 10 years or shipped overseas—these sales are final.
- Orders seized or destroyed due to violations of shipping laws or carrier policies.
Important Reminder: Before placing an order, ensure you understand your local laws regarding alcohol shipments. You are solely responsible for complying with regulations in your jurisdiction.
